In this series of After Effects tutorials we will create a science-fiction inspired teleporter effect.
We will begin with some character animation that has been matchmoved to a background plate. Then, using some basic dynamics tools and some creative re-purposing of other elements in After Effects' tool box, create a swirling portal of energy through which our character will take form.
We'll create holographic effects, particle effects, and distortion fields, and finish up the training with some color correction and camera shake.
By the end of the After Effects training you'll have the confidence to approach any project with the knowledge that no effect is out of your reach, if you're willing to experiment a little!

In this tutorial we'll learn how to take the output from a motion tracker app into Maya, import a 3d model to light and render then jump into After Effects to composite it with our original footage. We'll begin the tutorial by setting up our motion tracked scene by adding the original footage and aligning everything to make working easier. We'll then bring in our 3d object and learn how to place it in our scene. We'll then learn how to create ground geometry and match the lighting in our original shot. We'll then create multiple render passes and layers to make compositing much easier.

This stock footage collection includes 12 HD clips of smoke plumes which you are free to use in your productions to crank the destruct-O-meter to eleven. Also included is a half hour tutorial which is full of tips on compositing the smoke.

In this tutorial we will learn how to create a post-apocalyptic scene using the powerful 3D space and projection techniques in NUKEX. Throughout these lessons we will go over how to composite elements such as fire and smoke, and make them as real as possible. We will be using the powerful 3D system in NUKE to position these elements properly. We are going to create a whole new environment within our scene. We will then export our camera to Maya and set up our scene and effects. You will learn new techniques in this course, as well as the skills it takes to work faster as a compositor.
